When staging your home for sale it’s critical that your home’s interior is at it’s very best.

Photographs of your property will be looked at by thousands and judgement made within seconds. From just a photograph, potential purchasers will decide instanty whether or not they want to view your property or not. Here are just a few things you can do in order to make a big difference on a small budget.

Pillows & Cushions – pillows and cushions are a homes best friend because not only can they add shading to any room, they can also give life to old furnishings. They’re also great for dressing pretty much any room in your home, from the living room, dining room to bedroom.

New soft Towels – the presence of new towels in a bathroom can make a huge difference. Pick a colour which complients your tiles or even one that offers a nice contrast. Make sure their folded neatly too. It might also be a good idea to keep them aside especially for viewings too to avoid any damp smells or wet towels when people look around.

Blossoms and Fruit – the addition of fruit bowls and a vase of flowers can add a real feeling of freshness to your properties pictures. This idea has been shown to be very effective. Make your pictures really stand out with a stunning bunch of roses or lilies in your lounge or dining room and a bowl of shiny red apples in your kitchen.

A Rug – Do you have hard flooring? Why not create a softer look with a stunning rug or carpet? Textiles like this add warmth and style to a room. They can be great to add shading a depth to pictures too.

Modules – How your home smells can have a major effect too. Potential buyers frequently comment on how fresh a house smells. With this in mind however, remember that the fresh smell shouldn’t be too overpowering. If using plug in devices, make sure they’re on low. You could also think about using vanilla essence in and around your home, dabbed lightly on different areas to give a subtle yet incredible scent. Likewise, cut lemons in the kitchen are pretty great too. Failing that, opt for the good old fashioned scented candle.
